Workshop Update 5th February 2018

BR Standard Class 4 mt  2-6-4T  loco   No 80097

Scaffolding has been erected around the boiler on the lowmac frames and the crinolines have now been fitted.

Further caulking of the firebox stays has been carried out and a couple more firings have taken place to help the stays bed in further.

The backhead has been trial fitted before being removed and the insulation round the controls fitted.

The leading bogey wheels have been moved from outside the workshop and stored.

Steel plates are being cut to make a new rear drag box for assembly in the future.
