Workshop Update 19th June

Monday, 19th June, 2017

BR Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4 T  No 80097

Our latest update on the boiler work at Northern Steam Engineering (formerly Adam Dalgleish Engineering) is that all the tubes are now fitted, all the stays are now in and the mud hole doors are in place. Following the washing out of all engineering debris they are now hoping to fill it with water next week.

Meanwhile our work on 80097 continues with the first assemblies being installed into the new injectors.

All the superheater elements have now been delivered to our workshop.

Ivatt ‘Mogul’ Class 2 MT 2-6-0  No 46428

The refurbishment of the pony truck continues and a new stretcher bar has been fabricated and is being welded together.

On the membership front, the number of BS4G members (supporters and volunteer workers) has now topped the 100 mark. This supporting membership and donations is sincerely appreciated. Our shop coach at Bury and other fund raising activities all contribute to the money needed for our loco restoration.
