Workshop Update 7th June 2018

BR Standard Class 4 mt  2-6-4T  loco   No 80097

The boiler has been fully insulated and most of the cladding replaced ready for lifting.

On the 5th June the boiler was taken to the ELR loco shed at Baron Street, where it was lifted by crane. The ashpan was bolted on underneath before the boiler was then fitted back into the main loco frame.

The complete loco has been returned to the BS4G workshop, where final assembly will now begin.

Further work has continued on our Simplex diesel shunter, which has been used to move the boiler and now the loco, in and out of our workshop.
