Sorting Out the Shed

Sunday, 5th October, 2014

Diesel Dave, Dave C and Phil carried on with the tidying up of the shed, clearing up metal swarf, tools and general bits and bobs that had been left out on the wagon whilst the work on the fire box was completed.

The aim is to get the shed as tidy as possible so that when the boiler is sent away the frames of 80097 can be moved back into the shed. We need to get the remaining work on the frames progressed as far as possible, so that when the boiler is returned to us the work will be joining the two together, then the final fit.

Nigel assisted with the cleaning and also started to give the ash pan a protective coat of silver paint, we don’t want it rusting up again after all the hard work cleaning it off!!

The temporary scaffolding is now all removed from around the firebox, this means that the wagon that it is sat on is all ready to be moved from the shed when the time comes.

On Thursday Allan, Hugh and Sharon had another meeting with the ELR to discuss the agreements. It is hoped these will be finalised very soon. Watch this space!!
